Tools to Identify the 12 Tribes of Israel

Walk with us to try to uncover the tribe of Simeon and the tribe of Levi.

The process to identify the Tribes of Israel involves two essential tools:

1) Genealogy. This is where the individual that joins the project searches for clues in his/her ancestors’ type of work, hobbies, character, place of origin, etc. then he/she compares them to his/her reading in the Torah of the blessings given to each tribe and see if they are manifested in his/her paternal line…This is an essential part of the process where only you, the individual joining Etz Yoseph can contribute to this monumental task of identifying the Tribes of Israel.

2) DNA testing. This is where a genetic laboratory, in this case Family Tree DNA Lab in Houston Texas, will decipher the sequence of the individual’s DNA, by testing 37 STR’s (short tandem repeats) in the Y-chromosome, and assigned a y- haplogroup according to the predicted SNP (single nucleotide polymorphism). There are 20 main y-haplogroups from the letter A to the letter T. And many subgroups of them, depending on the SNP’s that are tested in that individual…Please see at www.etzyoseph.org the Genetic Memory V article to help you understand SNP and STR.

To illustrate the progression to recognize the Tribes of Israel we will use the Y-haplogroup E1b1b1, the color red denotes that the haplogroup is only predicted and not confirmed yet. Some of you had your haplogroup confirmed by having the actual Deep Clade SNP’s test of y-haplogroup “E” done and your results are in color green to denote that it is confirmed: E1b1b1 .In this project we temporarily assigned E1b1b1 as Levi due to three reasons:

1) This haplogroup is the second most common among the Jews living today.

2) It is the only Y-haplogroup found in the three Levite groups: Samaritan, Sephardic and Ashkenazi.

 3) Many of the E1b1b1 exhibit in your lives the blessings given to Levi in the Bible in Deuteronomy 33.

DNA results of Kit # 19664…We are thinking that subgroups of E1b1b1 could be part of the tribe of Simeon. For example kit # *19664 had his Deep Clade SNP’s done and we found that he belongs to E1b1b1 and to the sub-group c1, so he is E1b1b1c1. Now, this member paternal line’s family members “fit” the Simeon tribe’s blessings and curses found in the Tanach, more than the Levi tribe’s:

Genealogy of the confirmed E1b1b1c1 DNA kit # 19664.

A. His most distant known ancestor fought for the Independence of his country and was beheaded in action, where his head was cut off and then hanged on a bridge as a warning to the rest of his fellow countrymen not to continue to fight for their Independence…Only 5 years later his skull received a Christian burial.

B. His father was also in the military service and killed a man, because the fellow had sex with his sister and the day of the wedding the defiler did not show up. This is similar to the story of Simeon, Levi and their sister Dinah in Genesis 34.

C. His brother was an air force pilot and involved in fights frequently.

D. His nephew died tragically flying an air force airplane while on duty.

E. Some of his paternal family members have bad tempers and streaks of cruelty are part of their personality.

This is what Ya’acov said:

Genesis 49:5-7 –5 “Shim`on and Levi are brothers; Weapons of violence are their swords. 6 My soul, don’t come into their council; My glory, don’t be united to their assembly; For in their anger they killed a man, In their self-will they hamstrung an ox. 7 Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; Their wrath, for it was cruel. I will divide them in Ya`akov, Scatter them in Yisra’el.

Moshe does not even mention the tribe of Simeon when he gave the blessings to the tribe of Israel in Deuteronomy 33

Simeon and Levi were very similar. They were the second and third sons of Ya’acov and sons of the same mother Leah. It is believed that the anger, fierceness, cruelty of Levi was satisfied with the sacrifices of the animals in the Temple, whereas Simeon had only war left as an outlet to this flaw in their characters.

For this reason many do not want to be part of the Tribe of Simeon. May I say that their valor as mighty men of war were essential for the survival of the Israelites.

1 Chronicles 12: 25 Of the children of Shim`on, mighty men of valor for the war, seven thousand and one hundred.

That Judah usually called on Simeon to help in his battles Judges 1:3, even sharing his land with Simeon Joshua 19:1.

Also remember that Simeon is one of the 12 tribes that are sealed at end times to fight along Yeshua in Revelation 7 and the sealing of the 144,000…

When we look carefully at the inheritance of the land given to Simeon during the conquest of Joshua, we see that the city of Beer-Sheba, where Abraham, Isaac and Ya’acov lived was given to Simeon…(Genesis 21:33; Genesis 26:32-33; Genesis 46:5)

Also, we see that over 2,500 years later, at the time of the millennium at the Division of the Land given in the Book of Ezekiel, the city of Abraham, Beer-Sheba will fall under the jurisdiction of the tribe of Simeon.

Beer Sheba

We are who the Lord made us to be, and He never makes mistakes since all His plans are perfect. Simeon and Levi have the brokenness of this world marked in their characters by violence, anger, cruelty, impatience. YHVH can channel these flaws  into defense of their country, family members or into sacrifices of animals that at one time were used to clean the people of their sins…These two brother’s descendants also have the ability to change with the help of  the Ruach Hakodesh into kindness, tenderhearted and forgiveness.

Ephesians 4: 30 Don’t grieve the Ruach HaKodesh of God, in whom you were sealed to the day of redemption. 31 Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. 32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Messiah forgave you.

and finally will transform us all into the masterpieces that the Lord meant us to be before man disobeyed YHVH…

Psalm 139: 14 I will give thanks to you, For I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well… 23 Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. 24 See if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the everlasting way.

We would like for the E1b1b1 members to meditate in the blessings and curses given in the Bible to Simeon and look at your own life as well as your paternal family members, to see if they exhibit::

1) Military Service 2) Faithful to family and country 3) Cruel 4) Guns 5) Violence

Consider also doing the Deep Clade SNP’s test to try to distinguish between these two tribes by DNA…Ask me how to do the test.

Shorthand= is the last SNP found that determines the last digit of your haplogroup.

SNP called E.M35.1 determines the E1b1b1 of the haplogroup.

SNP called E.V13 the last SNP in the “E1b1b1” haplogroup that determines the “a1b” of the haplogroup E1b1b1a1b (This is like the Samaritan Levi alive today in Israel)

SNP called E-M34 is the last SNP in the “E1b1b1” haplogroup that determines the “c1” of the haplogroup E1b1b1c1 (This is our member that is by biblical blessings or curses in his life, which belongs to the Simeon tribe)

SNP called E-M84 is the last SNP in the “E1b1b1” haplogroup that determines the “a”- E1b1b1c1a

Thank you for being an active part of deciphering the 12 Tribes of Israel by blessings from the bible in genealogy and genetics.

Looking forward to hear your meditations in the subject, your family history and also if you decided to do the Deep Clade test of your haplogroup. Send your e-mails to gemelka@yahoo.com
