04 – The Remnant by Christopher Ames Song: “The Remnant” by Christopher Ames

In the Bible YHVH has established the identification of the Israelites and the tribes through the paternal line.
“Numbers 1:1 Now the Lord spoke to Moses in the Wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of meeting, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they had come out of the land of Egypt, saying: 2 “Take a census  of  all the congregation of the children of Israel, by their families, by their fathers’ houses, according to the number of names, every male individually,”
In the Etz Yoseph project, we will test 37 genetic markers of the Y-chromosome of those males that believe that they are Israelites by faith. This test will tell us which geographical group the individual belongs to, by determining the Y- Haplogroup. It may confirm if that person has Jewish ancestors by comparing our 37- genetic markers with those of the 169,000 Jews that have already been tested by Family Tree DNA. With this test, we will not be able to tell at the present time which tribe each of us belongs to. But we will be contributing to the process of identifying the twelve tribes of Israel by building up the DNA data base for future identification.
The hope is that as we compare the 37-markers in the Y-Chromosome of those people  that believe that they belong to the Israelites, that we will be able to identify something different and specific in the Y chromosome for each tribe.
If you are a female, the DNA test can be done on your paternal brother, paternal cousin, paternal uncle, paternal grandfather or your  father. They all have the same Y-Chromosome. Males have one Y-chromosome and one X-chromosome. Females have two X chromosomes and do not have the Y-Chromosome; they still carry 23 chromosomes of their father, which makes ½ of a woman’s DNA makeup identical to her dad’s genetic makeup. So you would belong to the same tribe as your Dad.
Now before a person does the Y-Chromosome 37-marker test, we need each person to answer the following five questions, that have to do with your genetic memory awakening, your belief of belonging to Messiah Yeshua first, then to Israel, then to one of the twelve tribes.
1)            Do you believe that Messiah Yeshua is the Savior of the World and have you submitted to His lordship under the light of  the Word of YHVH?
2)            Do you believe that you are a physical descendant of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob?
3)            If your answer to question (2) was no, do you believe that in some manner by faith in Messiah Yeshua you have become Abraham’s seed? (Gal 3:16)
4)            Regarding the present division of Israel, do you feel that you are from the stick of Judah and his companions of Israel, or  from the stick of Joseph which is in the hands of Ephraim and his companions of Israel?
5)            If you had to pick a tribal gate of the original twelve tribes to enter into the New Jerusalem, which one would you pick? You can see the characteristics of the twelve tribes in the Bible when you read the blessings given to the twelve tribes by Jacob in Genesis 48-49 and Moses in Deuteronomy 33.
We should be able to see in our lives the same blessings to distinguish us for each tribe. The gifts of the Lord are irrevocable and pass down to future generations, contingent  on obedience to The Word of God, which is the Bible.
“For the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable” (Romans 11:29).
“And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God” (Deuteronomy 28:2).

For many years I looked at the 12 tribes of Israel listed in Rev. 7 and wondering where they will come from since the Judah seems to be the only tribe still intact. Lately I’ve been thinking about the development of DNA testing/tracing ancestry.. Do you think that DNA testing could (and might) be used to find people people that have DNA of the other tribes of Israel … and that this testing could be used to rebuild these tribes .. and perhaps repopulate Israel with all tribes intact?
(thus Rev. 7: 5 – 8 ({12000 from each tribe being sealed}. would be no problem).

All other prophesies pertaining to the past has been fulfilled, why not that the Northern lost tribes (called Ephraim in the Bible)will become true also in the future?
Jeremiah 31:20 Is Ephraim My dear son? Is he a pleasant child? For though I spoke against him, I earnestly remember him still; Therefore My heart yearns for him; I will surely have mercy on him, says the Lord. 21 “Set up signposts, Make landmarks; Set your heart toward the highway, The way in which you went. Turn back, O virgin of Israel, Turn back to these your cities.
YHVH has created science and DNA. He Directs it, I am sure that DNA will give the facts of the Israelite Stories in its due time.
      Shavua tov,

I don’t think one can credit that Jacob had 12 sons and expect their lines to have varying y-DNA. What must be relied upon is what the Bible states–that a “mixed multitude” left Egypt. This same passage gives the various peoples that were already living in the land and there can be no doubt that many of them were ethnic Egyptians, too, or so many Jewish males would not be part of the E Haplogroup, very common in Egypt. We don’t know for certain what the circumstances were in all the expulsions or migrations from this place and there is every indication that one is too few, even though there can only have been one Moses. The last exodus from Egypt was in the 1950′s during the Nasser regime. Regardless, let us not forget the being Jewish is being part of a religion and a culture. When it comes to the proto-Jews, the Torah, itself, cautions us not to limit them to the 12 Tribes, the descendants of Jacob. Plus, there were converts to come much later, such as the Khazars, who would not have been part of either the J or the E haplogroups but surely had an impact on Ashkenazi Jewry.

Thank you for your comments Trixie!
Do you know how the genetic mutation rate theory works to determine when each haplogroup was formed? Can you share it with us?
The fact is that this genetic mutation rates go backward, do not know the environmental conditions that existed in the past that might have influence the mutation and how fast it happened…All theories. And if you see Y-Haplogroup J for example, J1 and J2 do not have a common ancestor for thousands of year… So according to the genetic mutation rate theory every descendant of Ya’acov would have to be the same Y-haplogroup, the same subgroup, the same sub-sub group, the same sub-sub-sub infinite… And this does not make any sense at all…4,000 years ago Ya’acov was himself exposed to different environmental conditions when he travelled from Beer Sheva to Syria, slept outside, he even had the vision of the ladder and the angels…the genetic mutations that may have happened in his sperms may have caused different mutations as he conceived his 12 sons… All theories again…
This truth, the fact that no one knows yet, should not stop the scientists to try to find by DNA the Tribes of Israel, understanding that there will in their mist aliens that have been grafted in and according to Scriptures there is no difference between the native and the grafted in alien… One of the reasons why in Etz Yoseph when we try to divide the Tribes we call them for example: “Judah COMPANIONS.”

Ezekiel 47: 21 “Thus you shall divide this land among yourselves according to the tribes of Israel. 22 It shall be that you will divide it by lot as an inheritance for yourselves, and for the strangers who dwell among you and who bear children among you. They shall be to you as native-born among the children of Israel; they shall have an inheritance with you among the tribes of Israel. 23 And it shall be that in whatever tribe the stranger dwells, there you shall give him his inheritance,” says the Lord God.

      Shabbat Shalom! Georgina
